N. Daskalantonakis Group

Fresh Gourmet produces its dishes with respect and responsibility to its clients and always with good quality, variety and strict health regulations in mind. This is why during the choice of raw materials used in the preparation of dishes, Fresh Gourmet sets very high standards and implements very strict specifications.

Freshness, taste, quality, safety and the organic cultivation of raw materials are just a few of the specifications set by the company during the choice and purchase of materials.

Fresh Gourmet always places great importance on the suppliers it chooses. They come primarily from the domestic market, but also from abroad and they are all known for the quality and safety of the products they deal in, as they bear the stamp with the approval and certification of the European Union.

The pure Cretan earth and the Cretan producers are yet another «source» from which Fresh Gourmet obtains the raw materials for the production of its dishes.

Orientated towards the Mediterranean and particularly the Cretan diet, Fresh Gourmet uses in its dishes only Cretan virgin olive oil and local Cretan products, such as vegetables and herbs, and potatoes from Messaria, well-known for their flavour. A large amount of the meat needed is obtained by the company from local producers, who raise their animals in the traditional way, free to roam the Cretan countryside, without using industrially processed food, which can be dangerous to humans.

A great amount of raw materials used by Fresh Gourmet come from a farm using traditional methods of cultivation, the “Agreco Traditional Farm”, which belongs to the N. Daskalantonakis Group, and is situated just outside the town of Rethymno. There large amounts of vegetables, fruit, poultry and meat are produced on the pure earth of Crete, with traditional methods and without the use of pesticides, and due to the processing methods followed by Fresh Gourmet, they arrive at our table with all their nutrients intact.
